Anonymous Coward: The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that the number pad buttons feature dark blue typeface on a black background, making them difficult (impossible) for me to read except in bright sunlight conditions. That doesn't absolutely need to be a deal-breaker for this otherwise excellent product, but it is a pain, and given the choice I would be more careful about that in the future. The issue isn't knowing which button is which number; the issue is that each button also functions as a quick jump to a feature setting. Without being able to read the buttons, you need to either memorize what each quick-jumps to, or manually use the feature menu, which isn't a horrible alternative at all.

Otherwise, no complaints. Quite the opposite, in fact. I'm very happy with everything about this set.

I especially appreciate that the set includes a USB cable to connect to a PC. The radio is supported by CHIRP, which is a free and open-source PC software product that can be used to customize radios from many manufacturers (You can also use that software to transfer settings from one manufacturer's radio to another's).
