Jeff Widgren: I love the green version of this radio. And, I really like the size and fit, as well. The screen display is colorful, bright (even out in the sun), and really well laid out with essential information. The keyboard and button functionality is super functional. Don't be afraid to press-n-hold each button to see what it does. For instance press-n-hold the "red" exit button while in Channel Mode to rotate displaying the channel name, channel number, and frequency. Or, start scanning channels with a press-n-hold of the A|B button. The programming software is good, it even lets you upload a custom boot-up graphic that can personalize your radio, although since I own a few other radios I prefer to use Chirp-next so I can easily copy-n-paste memory channels. The reception/transmission is solid. As a pilot, I enjoy listening to the Airband channels. Now, for my wish list items...I own other radios and have my favorite after-market antennas. One limitation of this radio is that the antenna attachment point's radius tolerance is so perfectly designed for the included antenna, that it doesn't allow for several other brands of antennas to fit into the same port. I've had to add a small threaded SMA extender to improve this.Although, you can listen to your local FM radio stations, I wish that this radio would provide the ability to store FM memory channels.Putting this radio into the charger base can be a little challenging. I have chosen to use the USB Type-C plug for charging, instead.
Really Like this Radio! A review of the Talkpod A36plus from Amazon
