Talkpod A36plus is the Low Cost Great Performance GMRS and HAM (UHF VHF)

For the money I don't believe you can get a better form factor (small) HT FCC accepted radio for GMRS or HAM radio if licensed. While criticism for spurious harmonics are reported on YouTube, my tests show current model within "acceptable" legal limits on all bands. Optional larger battery adds a little weight in exchange for long run time. Direct channel entry, alpha tagging and VFO is simple. Both TalkPod and CHIRP work well with accompanying cable. Loud and clear audio. Provided antenna unexpectedly "good" (less than 2:1) on all transmitted bands. Also, quick access to NOAA and FM commercial radio useful for an all in one radio. Main disadvantage is not DMR or P25.
