MinnesotaDrew: This little thing packs some oomph, I measured close to 9 watts at GMRS Ch1 on my meter which is pretty darn impressive for an HT! It also has a huge battery so you can run all day with this. Some pros of this over similar radios, besides the higher than average power and larger than normal battery capacity, is the fact that you can program three of the buttons to custom functions as desired and it does run on ham frequencies if needed. The screen is nice and the USB-C charging is a definite plus as well. It's nice that it comes with the programming cable. This is a tad bulkier than some other HTs but for more power and more battery life it's worth it. I see why these are such a popular model all of a sudden.
