Global Connections Over the Airwaves: YT7MPB Shares an Inspiring Journey with the Talkpod A36plus

In the world of amateur radio, a great piece of hardware does more than just transmit signals—it becomes a trusted companion on global adventures. Recently, Talkpod received a wonderful letter and field report from esteemed radio amateur Miroslav "Misko" Skoric (YT7MPB / LY7MPB / ES1MPB), detailing his incredible journey across the Baltics with our flagship Talkpod A36plus.

We are thrilled and honored to share Miroslav’s story on our official blog, celebrating how the spirit of amateur radio bridges cultures and connects innovators worldwide.

An Academic Tour Across the Baltics

Miroslav was nominated by the IEEE Radio Communications Committee (RCC) for the prestigious IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Distinguished Lecturer Program (DLP) for the 2025–2026 term. His inaugural DLP tour took him to Lithuania and Estonia in October 2025, where he delivered three public lectures promoting ham radio, including both FM and digital DMR voice modes.

To ensure he stayed connected throughout the journey, Miroslav made the Talkpod A36plus his constant travel companion.

"I planned to have A36plus with me during the whole tour, and to use it primarily for voice operation, and as a 'monitoring station' on the 70cm band," Miroslav shared in his letter. "In that direction, I programmed the radio to repeater frequencies in Vilnius (Lithuania), as well as in Tartu and Tallinn (Estonia)."

A Trusted Companion from Cafes to Conference Halls

Whether dining in local restaurants, relaxing in hotel lobbies, or working from his hotel rooms across Lithuania and Estonia, Miroslav’s A36plus was right by his side.

Equipped with localized repeater programming for Vilnius, Tartu, and Tallinn, the compact and reliable radio served as an effective monitoring station and voice communicator. Beyond its technical utility, Miroslav noted that carrying the device sparked engaging conversations about wireless technology:

"It was a nice experience for me to promote the Talkpod radio brand among technology enthusiasts and the general population in both Baltic countries," he noted.

Miroslav also shared that he plans to showcase his Talkpod experience on his official QRZ.com and LinkedIn profiles.
