TIANJIN, CHINA – May 6, 2026
Talkpod proudly announced its official corporate sponsorship and technical support for the 2026 "May 5th" Amateur Radio Activity Day & Emergency Communications Drill, held successfully at Meijiang Park in the Xiqing District of Tianjin on May 5, 2026.
Organized by the Tianjin Radio Association, the high-profile gathering honored the patriotic legacy of wartime radio operators while serving as a vital training ground to enhance regional disaster-response and communications-safeguard capabilities.
A Field Day Dedicated to Emergency Readiness and Compliance
The single-day field exercise brought together amateur radio veterans and new licensees to stress-test regional contingency frameworks under the leadership of veteran operators BA3AO and BH3BLX. Operating via local tactical channels—including the BR3AO analog repeater (439.950 MHz, -8 MHz offset, T118.8) and the primary simplex frequency (438.550 MHz)—participants engaged in a comprehensive operational matrix:
Emergency Communications Drill: Simulating rapid-deployment, infrastructure-free field setups to bridge vital local and long-distance communication links.
Spectrum Law & Regulation Advocacy: Distributing informational materials to educate the public on legal station establishment, proper spectrum usage, and the mitigation of unauthorized interference.
Hardware and Technical Exchanges: Showcasing modern equipment to demonstrate how traditional radio frequencies (RF) integrate with modern, resilient digital dispatch systems.
Talkpod’s Mission: Strengthening Grassroots Resilience
As a premier developer of professional wireless equipment, Talkpod's double involvement in regional field operations across the nation remains a cornerstone of the Talkpod Youth Amateur Program. By partnering with municipal organizations like the Tianjin Radio Association, Talkpod actively supports the technical growth of local operators, helping them serve as an unshakeable civilian safety net when commercial telecommunication networks go dark.
"The 'May 5th' tradition is a powerful reminder of how radio communication serves the greater public good," said a Talkpod Global Communications spokesperson. "We are incredibly proud to stand alongside our industry peers to sponsor the Tianjin Radio Association. Talkpod remains dedicated to engineering fully compliant, highly rugged, and intuitive communication systems that empower operators to deliver seamless, life-saving connectivity during any critical emergency response scenario."
