Talkpod Youth Amateur Program Sponsors SZRAC "May 5th" Amateur Radio Festival in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN, CHINA – May 6, 2026

Talkpod, a leading global innovator in professional wireless communications, proudly announced its sponsorship and active participation in the 86th "May 5th" Amateur Radio Festival & Shenzhen Amateur Radio Association (SZRAC) Member Representative Conference. The prestigious gathering was held on May 5, 2026, at Huaqiangbei, Futian District, under the central theme: "Commemorating the 'May 5th' Festival, Sharing HAM Fellowship, Exchanging Technology, and Seeking Common Development."

The grand event brought together wireless enthusiasts from across the region to honor ham radio heritage, witness cutting-edge technical live demonstrations, celebrate critical infrastructure milestones, and complete the association's historic leadership transition.

Empowering the Next Generation of Operators

As a key sponsor of the convention, the Talkpod Youth Amateur Program took center stage to support SZRAC’s mission of passing the torch to a new generation of hobbyists. The conference highlighted the rising vital force of young hams, featuring high-frequency (HF) and very-high-frequency (VHF) communication demonstrations by prominent millennial and Gen Z operators—including BD7PRC, VR2WAZ, and BA7OGJ—fresh from the national B7CRA radio event in Foshan.

Talkpod’s involvement directly underscores its global initiative to foster youthful talent, provide compliant hardware, and create a sustainable, welcoming ecosystem where new operators can truly enjoy their radio time.

A Milestone for Regional Infrastructure: 3 New Repeaters Launched

The festival served as the official launchpad for a massive upgrade to Shenzhen's wireless communication backup network. Approved and guided by the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the association formally activated three official amateur radio repeaters to establish comprehensive coverage across the urban core:

BR7IAT (Futian): 439.375 / -5 / 88.5 – Serving as the central urban hub.

BR7JCL (Longhua): 439.200 / -5 / 88.5 – Covering the north-central economic corridor.

BR7JCM (Longgang): 439.475 / -5 / 88.5 – Dedicated to servicing the eastern districts.

These repeaters will ultimately be interconnected, forming a highly resilient emergency communication backup network for public safety and daily operations.

Holistic Care & Governance Transition

Demonstrating deep care for the operator community, the conference featured a specialized medical health seminar titled "Sudden Death Prevention & Health Education," presented by BG2CTX from the Health Management Center of Shenzhen University General Hospital. The session provided crucial wellness guidelines tailored for operators engaged in long-term radio monitoring and night-watch duties.

Following the seminar, SZRAC successfully concluded its democratic general election, reviewing historical financial files, updating the 2026 association charter amendments, and electing its second-term Board of Directors and Supervisory Board to steer the association into a highly standardized era of growth.

Talkpod’s On-Going Commitment to Global Radio Culture

"Amateur radio is the foundational bedrock of all modern wireless innovation," said a Talkpod Global Communications representative. "We are incredibly proud to stand alongside industry titans like Yaesu and ICOM to sponsor the Shenzhen Amateur Radio Association. Through our Youth Amateur Program, Talkpod remains deeply committed to providing innovative, reliable, and compliant tools—such as our multi-mode platforms and ruggedized terminals—to support local clubs, foster safety-net communication, and inspire young minds worldwide."
