2024 China Radio Conference Opens in Ziyang, Sichuan

The 2024 China Radio Conference opened in Ziyang City, Sichuan Province. Themed "Innovating Radio Management to Empower New Industrialization," the conference was jointly hosted by the National Radio Monitoring Center, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, and the Ziyang Municipal People's Government. Xie Yuansheng, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the ¹ opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Xie Yuansheng pointed out that the Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the development of the radio industry. Under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with relevant departments, has scientifically managed radio frequency resources, built a solid electromagnetic space security barrier, and promoted and guaranteed the high-quality development of the radio industry. The radio management system must adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, resolutely implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, uphold innovation while staying true to our roots, and focus on building a modern spectrum governance system that integrates coordinated development, efficient utilization, and comprehensive protection, playing a greater role in supporting and ensuring new industrialization.

Key points to be emphasized include:

• Strategic guidance: Solidify the foundation for development by taking the national radio frequency spectrum long-term planning as a guide, systematically planning the layout at the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan", consolidating the legal foundation of radio management, optimizing frequency usage planning for key industries, and formulating domestic coordination management measures for satellite networks.
• Innovation-driven: Empower industrial development by leveraging the guiding role of spectrum resources, studying and formulating radio management regulations or development and utilization guidelines for multiple fields, conducting forward-looking research on 6G frequency requirements and related frequency compatibility, and promoting the establishment of a number of spectrum technology innovation centers.
• Promoting international cooperation and opening up: Maintain a global perspective, actively integrate into the country's overall opening-up strategy, enhance the ability to participate in the formulation and revision of international rules and standards, promote the establishment of a spectrum international cooperation mechanism, and facilitate the sharing of technological development achievements in the radio field among countries.

The conference lasted for two days and was attended by over 600 people, including responsible comrades from relevant departments and affiliated units of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, responsible comrades from radio management agencies of relevant departments of the State Council, responsible comrades from relevant departments of Sichuan Province and Ziyang City, responsible comrades from radio management agencies of various provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), responsible comrades from relevant technical support institutions, experts and scholars in the radio field, heads of leading enterprises in the radio industry, and heads of industry associations.
