On August 27th, the 2024 Radio Technology and Application Development Forum, hosted by the China Radio Association, opened in Beijing. Liu Lihua, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Liu Yan, President of the China Radio Association, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Academicians Zhang Ping and Yao Fuqiang from the Chinese Academy of Engineering delivered keynote speeches. Kan Runtian, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Radio Association, presided over the opening ceremony.
The meeting pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation has been deepening, and various radio technologies have been increasingly widely applied in all walks of life. China's radio industry has achieved unprecedented leapfrog development, powerfully promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and the high-quality development of the economy and society. With the rapid development of radio technology applications, the spectrum resources for carrying various radio services need to be scientifically planned and rationally allocated, a sharp increase in radio stations needs to be effectively managed, and the increasingly complex electromagnetic environment in the air needs to be carefully maintained. With a focus on promoting the high-quality development of the radio industry, radio management agencies across the country are committed to scientifically and rationally allocating spectrum resources, comprehensively enhancing radio monitoring and testing capabilities, and practically promoting the application of new radio technologies to empower all industries.
The meeting emphasized that the recently concluded Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, focusing on advancing Chinese-style modernization, has outlined strategic measures for further comprehensively deepening reforms. The meeting's proposals to "promote new industrialization," "develop new forms of productivity in a way that suits local conditions," and "promote deep integration of the real economy and the digital economy" have put forward new tasks and requirements for the development of the radio industry. We must unify our thoughts and actions with the spirit of the plenary session, consciously integrate the radio industry into the overall development of the party and the state, and firmly fulfill our mission and responsibility to accelerate the building of a strong manufacturing country, a space power, and a network power. All parties in the radio industry should make full use of the platform of the Radio Technology and Application Development Forum to jointly discuss technological innovation, share application results, and promote win-win development, in order to accelerate the cultivation of new forms of productivity and promote high-quality development.
This forum, themed "Accelerating the Application of New Radio Technologies to Empower High-Quality Industrial Development," was held both online and offline and concluded on August 28th.
