Brussels revealed as CCW 2025 destination

The host operator for Critical Communications World 2025 has been officially announced as Astrid in Belgium.

The announcement took place earlier today, at the start of the last day of this year’s event. The ceremony involved the handing over of a scroll, from Nedaa CEO His Excellency Mr Mansoor bu Osaiba to Astrid’s deputy director-general and director of external relations, Daniël Haché.

Speaking before the handover took place, TCCA board chair Mladen Vratonjić said: “As we draw this CCW to a close, I would like to express my satisfaction and pleasure that we participated in another great event.

“[Before we hand over], I want to once again express our gratitude to our host operator, Nedaa, to all the exhibitors, to our sponsors, and to everyone involved in the organisation of the event.”

Discussing his experience of this year’s event while also anticipating next year’s CCW, meanwhile, Haché said: “I would like to thank Nedaa for their hospitality and their perfect organisation.”

He continued: “We have some special things to offer you coming to Belgium - first of all Astrid itself. Astrid is one of the pioneers of TETRA radio communication, starting in 1998 together with some other European countries.

“So, we can tell you a lot about our 25 years of experience. But not only about the past, we can also tell you a lot about what we are going to do in the future, being in the middle of the preparation for our next generation project. We’re going to broadband.”

While stating that the new network would not be operational by 2025, Haché said “I am sure that we will have a lot of things to tell on how we’re going to do it, and how we’re preparing.”

Critical Communications World 2025 will take place at the Brussels Expo in Belgium, from the 17th to the 19th of June. You can read more from Daniël Haché in our interview with him.
