Shenzhen, China – June 17, 2025
Talkpod is reaffirming its unwavering commitment to environmental protection and product safety by rigorously adhering to the new EU Battery Regulation ((EU) 2023/1542). While certain aspects of the regulation, such as hazardous substance restrictions and CE marking, became enforceable on August 18, 2024, the comprehensive supply chain due diligence requirements are set to be fully implemented by August 18, 2027.
Despite the regulatory supervision mechanisms still being refined, Talkpod took proactive steps well before the full enforcement date. We are proud to confirm that we have successfully completed our registration and declaration work for the EU Battery Regulation in both Germany and the Netherlands.
Our German registration (Batt-Reg.-Nr. DE 42778825) was officially confirmed by the stiftung elektro-altgeräte register (stiftung ear) on June 16, 2025. This registration, under the power of attorney of Like Sun GmbH, ensures compliance for Talkpod brand device batteries within Germany.
Similarly, our commitment extends to the Netherlands, where we have secured the Waste Management Contribution Agreement (ABBO) for Batteries (CO10004010), effectived January 1, 2025. This aligns us with Stichting OPEN, which, through its generally binding declaration (AVV), centrally manages the legal producer responsibility for portable batteries and bicycle batteries. This ensures a sustainable funding mechanism and a level playing field for all producers.
At Talkpod, environmental responsibility is not merely a compliance checkbox; it's a core tenet of our operations. We understand the critical role we play in safeguarding our planet. By partnering closely with our European agents, we are dedicated to contributing to global environmental protection efforts. Our proactive approach to the EU Battery Regulation underscores our commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant, and environmentally responsible communication solutions worldwide.
