Built for the Future: Talkpod Gears Up the Next Generation at the 2026 Warren Hamfest

Reliable communication is more than just hardware; it is about the community that keeps the grid running when it matters most. On August 16, 2026, the tech and amateur radio community of Northeast Ohio rolled into the Trumbull County Fairgrounds for the annual Warren Hamfest.

Hosted by the Warren Amateur Radio Association (WARA), this ARRL-sanctioned event brought together makers, emergency communicators, and RF enthusiasts. Talkpod was on the ground with our Youth Amateur Program, bringing premium, dependable gear directly to the operators who will shape the future of wireless connectivity.

Equipping Tomorrow’s Communicators

Whether you are coordinating an off-grid adventure, managing a commercial job site, or serving in emergency response, you need gear you can trust. By showing up at local hamfests, our goal is to lower the barrier to entry and put rugged, intuitive radios into the hands of young makers. At the Warren Hamfest, we focused on:

On the Ground in Northeast Ohio

The setup in Cortland was a testament to the strength of the Ohio amateur radio community. With a highly active dual-band talk-in running smoothly on 146.970 (-) and 443.000 (+), the event showcased the kind of robust, local infrastructure that keeps communities connected.

Between the commercial building exhibits, the outdoor tailgating, and the tech forums, we had incredible conversations with the local operators. Hearing firsthand what operators demand from their equipment in the field is exactly what drives Talkpod’s engineering and product design.
