North Dumfries, ON – June 1st, 2025
Talkpod's Youth Amateur Project made a special appearance at the Central Ontario Hamfest on June 1st, 2025, a day that also happened to be International Children's Day! The event, held at 1128 Rife Rd., North Dumfries, ON, saw many long-standing and new amateur radio club members bring their children to experience the fascinating world of radio.
It was a truly heartwarming sight to see so many young faces eager to explore. In celebration of International Children's Day, Talkpod was thrilled to present each child with a special holiday gift: their very first handheld amateur radio! We believe that by placing these tools in their hands, we are planting the seeds for future generations of radio enthusiasts, explorers, and even scientists. We hope this small gesture sparks a lifelong passion for discovery and innovation.
A special thank you to VE3PMM – Patrick Mikolajczak, a proud member of KWARC, and all the organizers for making this event such a welcoming and engaging experience. It's through such community efforts that we can inspire the next generation of Hams.
Talkpod is committed to nurturing curiosity and fostering new talent in the amateur radio community. We look forward to seeing these young minds grow and contribute to the vibrant world of radio.
